After all, what do we have to do as a Christian?

Here's something to keep you away from.
Paul says here in 1 Cor. 12-20 like that.

Warning against fornication
Everything is allowed to me, but not everything benefits. Everything is allowed to me, but I should not let anything gain power over me. The food is for the belly, and the belly for the food, and both will God perish. The body is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body, and God raised up the Lord and will raise us up by His power. Don't you know that your bodies are the limbs of Christ? Should I then make the limbs of Christ a limb of a harlot? Not at all! Or do you not know that he who binds to a harlot is one body with her? - it says, "The two shall become one flesh." But he who binds himself to the Lord is one spirit with him.

Keep away from fornication! All other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but he who lives in the unbelief sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you and which you have from God? You do not belong to yourself, because you were bought expensive. Glory to God with your body!
