En tid til at slå ihjel, en tid til at helbrede. En tid til at rive ned, en tid til at bygge op. En tid til at græde, en tid til at le. En tid til at holde klage, en tid til at danse. En tid til at sprede sten, en tid til at samle sten. En tid til at omfavne, en tid til ikke at omfavne. En tid til at opsøge, en tid til at miste. En tid til at gemme hen, en tid til at kaste bort. En tid til at rive itu, en tid til at sy sammen. En tid til at tie, en tid til at tale. En tid til at elske, en tid til at hade. En tid til krig, en tid til fred. Hvad udbytte af sit slid har den, der foretager sig noget? Jeg så den plage, Gud har givet menneskerne at plage sig med: Han har gjort alting godt og rigtigt til rette tid; han har også lagt menneskerne verdens gang på sinde, dog uden at de kan finde ud af noget som helst af, hvad Gud gør.

Everything has a time
Ecclesiastes 3: 11-11 says. Everything has a time, because everything that happens under the sky there is a time. A time to be born, a time to die. A time to plant, a time to clear. A time to kill, a time to heal. A time to tear down, a time to build up. A time to cry, a time to laugh. A time to keep complaining, a time to dance. A time to spread stones, a time to gather stones. A time to embrace, a time to not embrace. A time to seek out, a time to lose. A time to hide, a time to waste. A time to tear it apart, a time to sew together. A time to keep quiet, a time to talk. A time to love, a time to hate. A time for war, a time for peace. What benefits from its wear does it do? I saw the torment God has given to men to torment: He has done everything well and rightly at the right time; He has also set the people on the path of the world, though they cannot figure out what God is doing.
